Civic Engagement Guidelines and Information
Otto Bremer was an active participant in civic matters. He ran for and was elected five times as the City Treasurer of St. Paul. He also ran for mayor, and at a later date President Roosevelt appointed him senior manager of the Home Owners Loan Corporation for Minnesota, one of the “New Deal” organizations established to help the country through the Depression. Inspired by our founder’s own interests and involvement in the public arena, the Otto Bremer Foundation is pleased to emphasize Civic Engagement as one its programmatic strategies. Organizational Effectiveness
Every nonprofit organization cares passionately about its work and the people it directly affects through its work. Only limits on staff, funding, or time prevent it from helping more people. A critical review of these components can raise other concerns involving boards, mission statements, managing volunteers, changes in client-base, and organizational and leadership transitions.  The Organizational Effectiveness program is one strategy the Otto Bremer Foundation employs to help nonprofits maximize their precious time, resources, and energy to help organizations carry out their passions in an even more profound manner.

Otto Bremer Foundation Application Guidelines and 2005 Annual Report
The Application Guidelines outline the processes and qualifications involved in seeking a grant or program related investment from the Foundation. The Annual Report lists previous projects and programs supported by the Foundation. Together, along with background information on Otto Bremer and the history of the Foundation, they comprise the Foundation’s Application Guidelines and Annual Report, a great tool for those who are seeking a grant or program related investment, interested in specific examples of projects, programs, organizations or communities who have received grants in the past, or for those simply interested in more information about the Foundation.
